webinar 'Profit or protection: why Europe needs to end the commercial trade in tigers and their parts'
Live webinar on December 1st, 12:00 - 14:00 CET
Captive tigers and their parts are substantially traded, both legally and illegally, within and out of the EU. The unnecessary commercial trade provides ample laundering opportunities for illegal trade in an endangered species. With only 3,900 tigers left in the wild, the EU must play its role in preventing the extinction of the species.
The webinar will provide an ideal platform to gain insight into the EU’s role in the global tiger trade, to explore how to achieve better protection for tigers and to discuss opportunities within the context of the Biodiversity Strategy 2030 and the evaluation and revision of the EU Action Plan against Wildlife Trafficking.
The online event will be moderated by Peter Woodward & hosted by the Members of the European Parliament (MEP) Anja Hazekamp, Martin Hojsík, Eleonora Evi, Yannick Jadot, César Luena and Sirpa Pietikäinen.
The interactive online format allows all participants to ask questions and join in the discussion. We are looking forward to a lively and interesting discussion with you!
