Fighting for a world where humans treat animals with respect, empathy and understanding.
our work
The most effective way to protect animals over the long-term is to improve the legal framework. We attempt to achieve this by direct action and lobbying at the national, European and international level and by appealing to the general public.
Fundamental changes require a broad social consensus. Therefore, our strategy is to apply professional public relations and to use a solution-oriented methodology, to change society and policymakers' perception on this issue. In this context, the role of FOUR PAWS is to assist the organisation in its mission to be a strong, global and independent voice for animals under human control. In particular, the Brussels office monitors the developments and lobbies the national, EU and international institutions to improve the welfare of animals in the field of Companion, Farm and Wild Animal Policies. Additionally, FOUR PAWS is advocating for a better recognition of animals in crisis situations and for a better enforcement of the existing legislations on animal welfare at EU level. Our work is not bound by any geographic limits. FOUR PAWS is politically and financially independent.
